Whenever We need to access the Gmail account on the iphone, most of us prefer Gmail over IOS mail. Because Signing into the Gmail App is much easier than the mail application, and you don’t have to use additional servers like- IMAP/pop3 etc.

When you see Gmail says no connection or Gmail offline error on your iphone, you should reboot the iphone once. Now open the Gmail app again.
Let’s see if it is working now or not. It is still showing the no connection error. Please make the following changes to the iPhone.
Disable the Airplane mode –
If airplane mode is enabled on your iphone. You will be restricted from using the Radio frequency signals. This means you won’t be able to make a call or use the internet, so if you will open the Gmail app while airplane mode is on. You will see the Gmail no connection error. To this error, you must turn off the airplane mode on the iphone.
- Unlock the iPhone.
- Go to the Settings.
- Turn off the Airplane Mode.
Turn on the mobile data –
If you are using the internet through mobile data on the iphone, be sure it is active.
- Go to the Settings.
- Tap on the Mobile Data.
- Enable the Mobile Data.
Connect the Internet with WIFI –
When Gmail is not working on the iphone and shows a connection error, please go to the settings and connect it to the WiFi.
- Go to the settings.
- Tap On the WIFI.
- If WiFi is off, go ahead and enable it.
- Now tap on your WIFI name from the list.
- Enter the WiFi Password.
- Press the connect button.
Fix The Internet connection –
Let’s check the internet connection on the iPhone to see if the connection is unstable or too slow. It might be the reason for no connection while accessing the Gmail account.
To fix that error, you need to keep the phone near the WIFI access point or connect it with other internet sources.
Refresh the app-
Sometimes, Gmail says offline errors can only be fixed by refreshing the app. So refresh the app couple of times. Now, check do you still see the no connection error on the iphone.
Update The Gmail app –
If you are using the older version of Gmail, which has been discontinued. It may become the reason for no connection error. To fix that, you have to update the mail application.
- Open the App Store.
- Tap On the profile pic.
- Now tap on the Gmail app.
- Press the Update button.
Disable the Antivirus –
If you are using any antivirus on the iphone. Please ensure that It is not blocking third-party mail apps like- Gmail, Yahoo etc. If so, you need to go to the Antivirus settings, and here you need to unblock the Gmail app.
Update the iPhone-
Apart from the Application issues, sometimes, Gmail says no connection because of the iphone Issue. When some updates are pending, or Files are not responding properly. It will have trouble connecting to the Google servers.
To get away from it, you have to update the iphone. After that, you should retry to access the Gmail account.
Reinstall the Gmail app –
If you have updated the Gmail application and iphone, it still keeps saying no internet connection. Please uninstall the Gmail app from your iPhone. Now install the latest version of the Gmail app.
- Tap & Hold The Gmail app.
- Press The Remove button.
- Reboot the phone now.
- Open the App Store.
- Search For Gmail app.
- Tap on the Gmail.
- Press the Install button now.
Reset the Phone –
If you have tried all these solutions but still getting Gmail Says no connection error on your device. I will strongly recommend you reset the iphone to the factory settings.
- Open the settings.
- Tap on the General option.
- Swipe up and tap on the Reset option.
- Press the Erase all settings option.
- Here, you need to press the reset all settings.
Once you reset the iphone successfully, let’s install the Gmail app. now, sign into the Gmail account. You will no longer have a connection problem.
