Hi, you have not completed the router installation process. that's why your router is not working. So you need to open the routerlogin.net page on your device.
Usually, Whenever you see solid orange light on your Netgear Nighthawk route. It indicates an issue with the internet connection between your modem and the router.
Here's a step-by-step guide to resolve the problem:
- first of all, you need to Ensure the modem's Ethernet cable is securely connected to the router's Internet (WAN) port. Also, you need to double-check that the modem is powered on and working properly.
- Let’s Power off the modem and the router. Wait for 1–2 minutes, then turn on the modem first. Wait until all lights stabilize. Next, power on the Netgear router and check the status of the lights.
- Open a browser and log in to the router’s admin page (usually http://192.168.1.1 or http://routerlogin.net ). Use the default login credentials (found on the router label) or your updated credentials. Navigate to the Internet or Setup Wizard section to detect and configure the internet settings automatically.
- If automatic detection fails, configure the settings manually: For Dynamic IP connections, no special settings are needed. For PPPoE connections, input your ISP-provided username and password.
- Some ISPs bind the connection to the MAC address of the old router or device. Go to the Advanced Settings > Internet Setup in the router’s admin interface. Select Use Computer MAC Address or manually enter the MAC address of your old D-Link router (can be found on the label of the old router).
Once you will change these settings on your Netgear extender, it will start working fine.
