Why is reset button not working on Netgear range extender?

I’ve been trying to reset my Netgear range extender to factory settings, but the reset process doesn’t seem to work. I’ve pressed and held the reset button as instructed, but the extender doesn’t reboot or return to default settings.

Has anyone else faced this issue? What could be causing the reset to fail, and are there alternative methods to perform the reset? Any troubleshooting tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Generally, Reset doesn’t work on the netgear extender when you don’t press the button properly. So you need to ensure that the button is pressing.
Here are few things you must need to take take of:
1. Locate the Reset button (usually a small hole) on the back or underside of the device.
2. Use a paperclip or pin to press and hold the button for at least 45 seconds.
3. Release the button when the power LED begins to blink.
4. Wait for the extender to reboot and return to factory settings.

Also, you need to ensure that extender is plugged in and it is on while performing the reset activity.

Whenever reset button is not working on the netgear router.  You need to check the following settings.

  1. First of all, you need to confirm you're pressing the correct button. The reset button is often recessed and requires a paperclip or similar object to press it.
  2. Whenever you want to reset the range extender, you need to press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds. If you release the button too early, the reset process might not trigger.
  3. Unplug the extender from the power outlet for 1–2 minutes. Plug it back in and try the reset process again.

If these steps doesn’t work for you. You need to reset the range extender. It will start working fine.
