Sweep is a set of rules in Outlook that help you clean the outlook inbox. You can archive, delete, or spam any message through the outlook sweep rule by using the sweep parameters. This feature is available in Outlook OWA and Outlook 365.

When you are receiving too many emails from a specific person, you can create a sweeping rule and assign the destination of incoming messages which are coming from them. Generally, Sweep has four sets of rules.
Move all messages from inbox- When you create a sweeping rule by selecting the move all messages from inbox. It will transfer the available messages to the assigned folder.
Move all messages from the inbox and any further messages- if you will select this option in Outlook. It will transfer all current emails from the inbox to the destinated folder. Apart from that, If the sender sends you a new message, you will not receive them in the outlook inbox. So the new messages will also land in the MoveTo Folder.
Always keep the latest message and move the reset from the inbox Folder- This is the third option in the sweep rules. If you choose this option, you will only be able to see the newest message in the inbox. Meanwhile, the existing messages will be shifted into the Moveto folder.
Always move messages Older than 10 days from the inbox folder- If you will choose this option while creating a sweep rule. Outlook will keep the message in the inbox for 10 days, and the sweep rule will be applied to that message.

- Let’s connect the computer to the internet.
- Go to the outlook.com website.
- Press the sign-in button.
- Here, you need to enter the outlook login details and press the sign-in button. If you are having trouble signing in, you need to visit: Why can’t I sign into the Outlook account?
- Now click on the senders message, On which you want to apply the sweep rule.
- Click On the Sweep option available in the top menu.
- Choose any one appropriate rule from 4 of them.
- Now select the MoveTo folder.
- Finally, Hit the Ok button to create the rule.
How To Delete the Sweep Rule In Outlook?
If you had created some sweep rule earlier but now want to delete it. You can easily do it on Outlook by following the steps given below.
- Open your browser on your computer or phone.
- Click on the Outlook.com website.
- Click on the Settings button.
- Now click on the View all outlook settings.
- Once you reach the outlook settings window, click on the Sweep button from the left menu.
- Now you will be able to see the outlook sweep rules. Press the delete button.

- Now Choose the archive folder in the MoveTo Folder.
