My Netgear N300 router has started flashing orange right after power outage. Now, I tried to power cycle it couple of times, but it didn't work out. Still I can see a flashing amber internet signal light.
Also, If i connect my pc directly through ADSL modem. I can access the internet. so the problem is within the router. How do I fix it?
Whenever your router is flashing orange, you need to check the internet connection. to do that, you need to follow the instructions given below.
- The orange light may indicate a problem with your modem or internet connection.
- Connect your modem directly to a computer and check if the internet is working.
- If there’s no internet, contact your ISP to resolve the issue.
When multiple devices are connected to your Modem, there may be an IP conflict. due to which, your router may start flashing orange. In such a case, you need to restart all connected devices and the router. This process will assign new IPs automatically.
which will automatically resolve the Flashing orange problem on your router. also, if this doesn't work, you may change the default gateway ip of your router.
Sometimes, netgear router is not working because of the firmware issues. so you need to update the firmware.
- Access your router's admin interface
- Open a browser and type 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.
- Log in using your admin credentials (default username: admin, password: password).
- Navigate to the Firmware Update section.
- Check for updates and install them if available.
- Restart the router after updating the firmware
Once you will make these changes into your netgear wireless router. The light should turn into the green now.
