I had a yahoo mail account about 2 years back and I deleted it because I was no longer using it. But now, I need it again. Is there any way to recover this account?

If you had deleted your yahoo account about two years back, There is no chance to recover it. Because, your account & data would have been deleted from the yahoo mail servers. So I recommend you to create a new yahoo.
Also, if you need a similar name, you can check the availability of that name on the yahoo.
