I recently got a Netgear router, and I need to access its settings to update the Wi-Fi password and configure a few other features. However, I’m not sure how to log in to the router’s admin panel.

I’ve tried typing the default IP address (192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) into my browser, but it’s not working. Do I need to connect to the router with a wired connection, or can I log in via Wi-Fi? Also, what are the default username and password for Netgear routers, and what should I do if I’ve forgotten my login credentials?

Accessing your Netgear Smart WiFi router’s admin panel is very simple. Also it is useful when you need to help in managing settings like network security, parental controls, and firmware updates.
If you don’t know how to access netgear router admin panel. Do not worry, here are the guide that you can follow on your device.

    • 1. First of all, you need to connect the netgear router to the computer through wireless network. Also, if you don’t have wireless functionality, you can use the ethernet cable.
    • 2. Now open the browser and type 192.169.1.1 in the top address bar and press the enter button.
    • 3. Once, you will reach to the router login page, you need to enter the login credentials. By default, the username is Admin and password is password. Also, if this doesn’t work, you may look at the router. You will find the username and password written on it.
    • 4. After entering the login credentials, you need to click on the login or ok button.
That’s it, you have now successfully logged into the netgear router admin panel, you may now make the changes into your account.
