I am facing an issue with my Asus laptop where the internal speakers have suddenly stopped working,
but the audio works perfectly fine when I plug in headphones or external speakers.
When I disconnect the headphones, the laptop shows that sound is playing, but there is no audio from the internal speakers.
Has anyone experienced something similar with Asus laptops?
I am hoping this is a software issue rather than a hardware problem.
Any suggestions or troubleshooting tips.

This type of situation comes when there is a driver conflict. So you need to go to the device manager and check the audio driver. If you see two or more sound drivers. You need to uninstall all of them and then install a new driver on your computer.
- Press windows +R button to open run box.
- Type devmgmt.msc and click on the ok button.
- Expand sound, video and game controller.
- Now you will see the audio driver, you need to select the audio driver.
- Right-click on the Audio driver and then click on the uninstall button.
Once you will uninstall the driver from your computer, you need to reboot the computer again, and then play something.

Sometimes, Windows disables internal speakers due to sound format or enhancement issues.
- you need to right-click the speaker icon.
- open Sound Settings, and select your internal speakers device.
- Disable all enhancements.
- After disabling the enhancement, change the audio format (for example, from 24-bit 48000 Hz to 16-bit 44100 Hz).
A restart after this change often brings the audio back.
