I have a belkin N1200 wireless router on my ground floor. It is spreading the wireless signal perfectly on the first floor.
But When I go to the second floor, The signal strength is weak. So I bought a new Nextgear N300 Smart wifi extender to boost the network signal on this floor.
But I am not sure about the installation process of it. Although, I tried to follow the user manual, but couldn't got any success.

When you are planning to setup the netgear wifi extender for the first time. It can be little challenging. Specially, when you are connecting it with the different router.
So don’t worry, here are the complete guide, you can simply follow this guide to install your netgear wifi extender with the Belkin n300 wireless router.
- Before starting, unpack your Netgear WiFi extender and ensure it’s in good working condition. Position the extender halfway between your Belkin router and the area where you want to improve connectivity. This placement ensures a strong signal and effective coverage.
- Plug the Netgear WiFi extender into a power outlet.Wait for the Power LED on the extender to turn green, indicating it’s powered on.
- On your smartphone, tablet, or laptop, go to the WiFi settings. Connect to the extender’s default network, usually named Netgear_EXT. Once connected, open a web browser and type http://mywifiext.net in the address bar.
- Log in using the default credentials and the Username: admin Password: password.
- Once you will reach to the login extender, you need to select setup wifi range extender option.
- Now netgear router will start scanning the network, Once you will able to see the Belkin wifi router’s name. you need to select it and click on the connect.
- Now enter the password, and then click on the connect button.
Once the connection is successful, the Device to Extender LED and Extender to Router LED on your Netgear extender will turn green or amber, indicating a stable connection. You may now place it wherever you are getting the low network.

- Let's power on the range extender and connect it to the computer. you will see a wifi name with NEtgear_Ext or something like that. simply click on it and press connect button.
- Now open your browser and type 192.168.254.1 and click on the ok button.
- Once you will be able to see the netgear range extender setup, you need to click on the connect to the internet
- Here, you need to choose your wifi and click on the next button
- Now you will be asked to enter the password. simply enter your wifi password and click on the next button.
- Finally, your router will be connected to the internet.
