Why Does My Epson Printer Wifi Setup Failed?

(@askprobforumgmail-com)
Member Admin

I recently tried setting up my Epson printer to connect to my WiFi network, but the process keeps failing. The printer either doesn’t detect the network or won’t connect after entering the WiFi password. I’ve ensured the network is working fine and that I’m using the correct credentials.

Has anyone faced this issue before? Are there specific troubleshooting steps I should follow to resolve the problem? Any tips or a step-by-step guide would be highly appreciated!

Generally, wifi setup failed process occurs due to the following reasons. so you need to check these settings.
Incorrect WiFi Network Credentials
Entering the wrong SSID (WiFi network name) or password can prevent the printer from connecting to the network.

Weak or Unstable WiFi Signal
A weak signal may cause the printer to fail during the connection process.

Printer and Router Incompatibility
Some printers may not support specific network configurations or router frequencies (e.g., 5GHz networks).

Firewall or Antivirus Blocking Connection
Network security settings on your computer or router may block the printer's connection.

Outdated Firmware or Drivers
An outdated printer firmware or driver can cause communication issues between the printer and the network.

Too Many Devices Connected to the Network
Overloaded networks can lead to connection failures.

Whenever you are going through the wifi setup failed error on the Epson printer, you need to make the following changes into your router.

Verify Network Credentials
• Double-check the WiFi network name (SSID) and password.
• Ensure the WiFi credentials are entered correctly, keeping uppercase and lowercase letters in mind.
2. Place the Printer Close to the Router
• Ensure the printer is within the router’s range to receive a strong signal.
• Avoid placing the printer near devices like microwaves or cordless phones that may cause interference.
3. Use the Correct Network Frequency
• Most Epson printers work best with 2.4GHz networks.
• Log in to your router’s settings and check the network frequency. Switch to 2.4GHz if the printer doesn’t support 5GHz.
4. Restart Devices
• Restart your router and printer to refresh the connection.
• Power off both devices, wait for 30 seconds, and turn them back on.
5. Disable Firewall or Antivirus Temporarily
• Temporarily disable your computer’s firewall or antivirus software to rule out security blocks.
• Once the printer is connected, re-enable the security settings.
6. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers
• Visit the Epson Support Website and download the latest firmware and drivers for your printer model.
• Install the updates and restart the printer before attempting the WiFi setup again.
7. Reconfigure the WiFi Setup Using WPS
If your router supports WPS (WiFi Protected Setup):
1. Press the WPS button on your router.
2. On the printer, press and hold the WiFi button until the WiFi indicator starts flashing.
3. Wait for the connection to establish.
8. Use the Epson Smart Panel App
• Download the Epson Smart Panel app from your smartphone’s app store.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to configure the WiFi setup

If you are unable to setup the wireless network on the Epson printer, you should try WPS method for connection. to do that, you need to follow the instructions given below.

  • First of all, you need to power on the printer and router. and keep your printer nearby the router.
  • Now open the setup >> Go to Network >> WLAN setup >> Wireless protected setup
  • Here, you need to select the push button method
  • Let's press the wps button on your router. it is available at the back side of the router.
  • wait for 2 minutes, so router can detect the printer and connect it automatically.

That's it! your printer is now connected to the wireless network. In case, If this method doesn't work, you may try the WPS pin method.
in this method, you have to enter the WPS pin instead of pressing the button.
